I would like a metafield that supports an arbitrary number of images. This could be used, for example, in blog posts or articles where I want to feature a "gallery" of images.

Thanks for the request! You can use a Repeater Metafield to handle this use case. You can then include an image metafield inside the Repeater and add as many as you need per article/instance.

Karl Koch: Thanks, didn't realize I could do this! Still, I would prefer being able to upload multiple images simultaneously directly into the metafield. I now know I can upload them simultaneously in the media tab and then add each individually in the repeater field, but that would be tedious for larger collections.

Maybe there could be special handling for when the repeated item is an image type to allow for simultaneous upload/selection? Sorry if this is again already possible.

Ryan Steinwert: Gotcha! Thank you for sharing, this does make a lot of sense and I can see why it would be useful. We'll have a think about this internally and see how we might solve it in the best way. Watch this space.
